Punjabi Natak Academy (Regd.) was founded in 1958, under the chief patron-ship of Late S. Partap Singh Kairon (Former Chief Minister of Punjab), for the promotion of Punjabi theatre art & culture and Sh. Charan Singh Sindhra, was its first Hony. Director. Thousands of various Dramatic performances are on its record and several eminent, popular T.V , A.I.R, HMV, theatre and screen artists are associated with its work, productions and activities.

In the year 1978, Punjabi Natak Academy (PNA) established its Head Office at Mohali, Punjab for covering the Punjab State & other parts of the country for wider scope & span. PNA has done a very commendable work in India and abroad for the promotion & propagation of healthy, constructive Vital Cultural activites. In its repetorie, one can find and enjoy the Ballets, Operas, Pantomimes, Shadowplay, Drama and Vandeville.
